Luke 23:32-33 - Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with Jesus to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.

Luke 23:34 - Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Matthew 18:21-22 - 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

1. Don’t focus on the math, focus on the mercy.

Matthew 18:23-25 - 23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like… a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants……

Matthew 18:33 - Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’

Colossians 3:13 - “Forgive as the Lord forgave you .”

2. You give it because you got it.

Matthew 6:9-15 NLT - 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. 10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today the food we need, 12 and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. 13 And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. 

Matthew 6:14-15 - 14 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

3. We Learn to Forgive by faith.

Remember - The love of Jesus is Greater than any offense.

1 Peter 4:8 - Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
